Growing up in a house where CD's are wallpaper...

I am a 90's kid, and like most people, I love music. I was brought up around music every day; my dad likes to think of himself as some kind of DJ and owns, (fills every space of the house, floor to ceiling) thousands of CD's and Vinyl's dating from the 60's until now, which he plays on a sound system the size of our living room. Being a Punk in the 80's, a lot of his music is geared towards a more Rock audience...so it's anyone's guess how I ended up listening to Jay Z and Skepta.

Weirdly, the music I remember the most from being a child isn't the Punk Rock/Nu-Romantic type that he listened to most at all, but the 90's dance, Reggae, Hip Hop, and the regular 90's Pop songs which are now classics. Maybe I'm just wired up to block out music which is too heavy on the drums and guitars lol...

Anyway, because music was a massive part of my life and kind of an escapism, I have such strong memories attached to a lot of these songs, and even though many are commercial, chart based songs from back in the day, they are special for me :)

A few classics, (mostly from my dad's collection) that I remember:

UB40 - I Can't Help Falling in Love With You
All Saints - Under The Bridge
Dr. Dre - Still DRE
The Tampera - Feel It
House of Pain - Jump Around (Mrs Doubtfire anyone?)
East 17 - Stay Another Day
Wu Tang Clan - Gravel Pit
The Fugees - Killing Me Softly
Massive Attack - Teardrop
2 Unlimited - No Limit
Living Joy - Dreamer
Space - Female of the Species
Haddaway - What is Love
Air - Sexy Boy
Culture Beat - Mr. Vain
Eiffel 65 - Blue Da Ba Dee
N-Trance - Set You Free
Inner Circle - Sweat
Whigfield - Saturday Night (dancing at a wedding age 4)
Sonique - Feels So Good
Snap - Rhythm is a Dancer
Artful Dodger ft. Craig David - Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo' Selecta)
The Beautiful South - Rotterdam
The Cranberries - Linger
Groove Armada - At the River
Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman
REM - Everybody Hurts
Usher - You Make Me Wanna
Beats International _ Dub Be Good To Me
No Doubt - Don't Speak
Blur - Parklife
Babylon Zoo - Spaceman
En Vogue - Don't Let Go
SWV - Right Here
Lightning Seeds - 3 Lions (because I love football)

Oh and anything by The Vengaboys and The Spice Girls...because I was a 90's kid lets face it!

A few special mentions:

All Saints - Never Ever:

This one was always on the radio, as well as my dad playing it. Pure classic, and I wish sooooo much that All Saints were around these days, I love how they're a girl band but not cheesy in the slightest, just cool with a ton of attitude.

Eminem - The Real Slim Shady.

I used to rap along to not only this, but his entire first two albums...I was 8, and that's a bit worrying. Eminem can do no wrong though in my eyes, and his music was a big part of my childhood as well as now.

Moby - Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad

This was the first ever song that made me cry. And I was too young to even understand the lyrics...strange child I was!

Coolio - Gangsters Paradise

I don't think this one needs an explanation.

Bobby Brown - 2 Can Play That Game

RAVE EVERYONE!!

Oasis - Wonderwall

This song is beautiful.

Going to stop there before I get even more carried away haha.
Reminisce, and enjoy :)
